There are four tax installments each year. The Interim billing has two installments and with due dates in March and June. The final taxes are billed out in August with due dates in September and November.
Tax payments may be made at most financial institutions, telephone banking, monthly pre-authorized payment or by mailing your cheque with the stub to the municipal office. Cheques must be made payable to: Township of North Huron - Taxes. In order to have your payment automatically withdrawn from your bank account by monthly installment, please complete the for “Pre-authorized Tax Payment Authorization Form” and return to the municipal office with a “void” cheque from the bank account to be used for this transaction. Payments may also be made at the Treasury Office by cash, cheque or interac (debit) transaction. There is also a mail slot located in the front door of the Municipal Office.
Treasury staff provide information to the public with regard to property taxes, property assessment, account balances and general inquires. The Treasury Department processes applications for Tax Adjustments, Vacancy Tax Rebates, Minutes of Settlement and Assessment Review Board decisions along with Supplemental Billings and Write-offs.
Penalty and Interest will be imposed on the first day of default and the first day of each calender month thereafter. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve a taxpayer from penalty charges. If you have recently acquired a property and have not received the tax information from the lawyer’s office, please contact the Municipal Office.
E-Billing of Property Tax
The Township of North Huron is now offering the option to have your property tax invoices sent electronically. If you wish to sign up for this service complete the E-Billing Enrollment Form located in the Document and Forms section of this website. Notices will be emailed to the requested address provided.
