As a member of the Senior Management Team reporting to the CAO, the Director of Public Works is responsible for the planning, maintenance and operation of the Township's public works systems including roads and bridges, sanitary sewer and drinking water, storm sewer, and waste management. North Huron is composed of two fully serviced urban centres linked by a highly productive agricultural area.
The successful candidate will have appropriate post-secondary education in a related field, and at least five years' experience guiding public works operations. He/she will provide advice to Council through written reports and be a key member of the Township's asset management team.
Project planning and management will be a key skill for the Director as will be providing guidance and oversight to the operations staff, contractors and consultants. An accomplished verbal communicator, the Director must have a commitment to excellent customer service.
