2020 Summer Student Positions

The Township of North Huron is seeking seasonal employee(s) to assist with various Summer programs and initiatives within the Township of North Huron. The following positions to be filled are:


The Parks Department is seeking four (4) individuals to fill a full-time, seasonal position. Under the direction of the Lead Hand, the Parks and Properties Operator(s) will perform various tasks relating to the maintenance and upkeep of municipal infrastructure, green spaces, parks, gardens and facilities. The majority of work will be performed outdoors and will include grass cutting, restoration and upkeep of walking trails and maintenance of municipal facilities.

 Qualifications for Employment

  • 16 years of age or older with a Valid Ontario Driver’s License;
  • Experience operating tractors and mowers an asset;
  • Experience or education in park management/horticultural/landscaping a desire;
  • Available to work full-time between May and August, working Forty (40) hours per week;
  • Scheduled shifts are Monday to Friday, with potential for some weekend work as required;
  • Valid/Current Police check required.



The Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking energetic, conscientious, caring, and organized individuals to fill this position. Duties Include:  Planning, implementing and supervising Summer programs and special events, while ensuring a safe, positive and fun environment for all participants.

 Qualifications for Employment

  • Current First-Aid & CPR Certificate;
  • Available to work full-time hours in July and August;
  • 16 years of age or older;
  • Experience in the organization and implementation of activities for children and youth of various ages;
  • Valid/Current Police check required.
