NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT - Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan (Wingham and Blyth)
The Township of North Huron is initiating a Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan study for the communities of Wingham and Blyth, to identify future infrastructure and servicing needs related to the municipal water and sewage systems over the next 20 years. The Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan process will involve a review of existing water treatment, storage, and supply infrastructure, and sanitary sewage collection and treatment infrastructure. The study will also include a review of growth projections used to establish potential future water and wastewater servicing requirements as they relate to key infrastructure. Upon completion, the Master Plan will serve as a strategic document for the continued provision of water and wastewater services. The Master Plan will also indentify and outline the implementation of any recommended projects.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS:
The Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA), dated October 2000, as amended in 2007, which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act. Master Plan studies incorporate Phases 1 & 2 of the Class EA process and also include consultation with the general public, government review agencies and the public.
