The Township of North Huron is pleased to announce that Moorsom Companies has recently purchased the Wingham Plaza (Tim Horton’s, Bank of Montreal, Pharma Plus, Herbal Magic, Valumart, and KFC) and they will be making considerable investments into improvements to update the shopping centre’s interior and exterior.
Rod Moorsom, who has family in the Lucknow area, has been working closely with North Huron building and planning officials and is hoping to start improvements shortly, with exterior improvements beginning in the spring.
“We’re very excited about Rod’s redevelopment plans that will complement renovations at Tim Horton’s, major upgrades to Josephine Street, and downtown revitalization initiatives proposed by the Wingham Business Alliance,” said North Huron’s CAO/Clerk Gary Long. “Supporting our existing businesses and attracting economic development are key priorities. Moorsom Companies’ investment in Wingham generates positive momentum and interest that will help us attract more commercial development.”
“Wingham is a great place to invest, and a great place for people to settle. We’re all here because it is a regional hub for schooling, it houses a great arena and a hospital, and it’s strategically positioned at the region’s busiest arteries,” said Moorsom. “It has the ingredients to make it a great landing spot for young families through to retirees.”
Moorsom Companies owns and develops retail properties in southern Ontario. It has leases with well-known national retailers. It also owns commercial development property along Highway 86 in Morris Turnberry.
