North Huron Responds to the Solicitation of Independent Water Tests in the Village of Blyth

The Annual Water Reports for the municipality of North Huron are available on-line and copies are available by request through the municipal office.  Regular water testing is performed by municipal staff who are committed to ensuring a consistent supply of safe, high quality drinking water to the residents of Blyth and Wingham by meeting or exceeding all applicable legislation and regulation including the Safe Drinking Waters Act and the Ontario Drinking Water Standards.  The 2009 Annual Water Report for the Blyth well as conducted by the Ministry of the Environment identified no compliance issues.  Recently an independent company has been contacting residents offering to test their drinking water for mercury content.  The content of mercury in the Blyth water system falls far below the acceptable limits and in fact is too insignificant of an amount to actually measure.  The municipality requests that you refer to the North Huron website www.northhuron.ca under the Water and Sewer Department 2009 Blyth Water Annual Report, page 11 for the actual results of the Laboratory Analysis.
