County-wide Career Fair to be held on October 27, 2016

Friday October 21st, 2016

Clinton, ON – The 2016 industry Connects Career Fair is being hosted this year by the Municipality of Central Huron.  This bi-annual event that opens its doors to high school students from all secondary schools across Huron and Perth counties will be held throughout the day on Thursday October 27th.

Area students will learn of local career options from exhibitors, colleges and universities as well as regional employers.  This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about their pathways to post-secondary education and explore employment opportunities in the area.

Exhibitors will be on hand at the Libro Community Hall in Clinton from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm to provide demonstrations and answer questions about careers in manufacturing, agricultural services, healthcare, municipal operations and more.  Over 40 booths will be set up to welcome the more than 500 area high school students at the event.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our students to explore local career options available to them after completing high school. We also have breakout sessions covering summer employment, apprenticeships and entrepreneurship.” said Jim Brintnell, this year’s event coordinator. “We have had a tremendous response from area schools, employers and our sponsors.”

The event has been graciously sponsored by the Municipality of Central Huron, the Grey Bruce Huron Perth Crown Ward Education Championship Team, the County of Huron, Fanshawe College, Lambton College, the Four County Labour Market Planning Board, Conestoga Careers, the Centre for Employment and Learning, Partners in Employment, the Township of North Huron, the Huron Small Business Enterprise Centre, Progressive Turf and Pioneer.
