For Immediate Release:  Friday, February 08, 2013

North Huron is looking for community input on Resident Survey geared to assisting economic development

North Huron citizens will be receiving a Residents Survey in their mailbox in the next few days.  A follow up to the Business Retention and Expansion survey conducted with area businesses, the Residents Survey collects information on the attitudes and opinions of community residents on local business areas.  Used in other communities, the survey has assisted with economic development efforts by identifying new retail and service businesses that residents would like to see established.

The information gathered by the survey will be useful to the municipality, as well as, the Blyth and Wingham Business Improvement Areas by providing information on general shopping patterns, business area perceptions, reasons people choose to shop locally and reasons why people shop elsewhere.

“We are eager to hear from as many people as possible.  The survey will be sent to every mailbox in the municipality but we want to hear from others who live and work in the area, as well as those who come to North Huron to shop or access services.  The survey is also available on line at www.northhuron.ca.  We appreciate people taking the time complete the Residents Survey as the information will be used for the future planning and growth of our community”. To take the survey on-line now, click on www.surveymonkey.com/s/NHresidentsurvey.
