Community Consultation Underway for
North Huron’s Strategic Plan
North Huron -- The community consultation phase of North Huron’s strategic planning process is underway. Last Thursday, the first of three public meetings was held in Blyth at the new Emergency Services Training Centre (ESTC).
This Thursday evening, there will be a public meeting in East Wawanosh at the Belgrave Community Centre. Next Monday September 26th, a public meeting will be held in Wingham at the Columbus Centre. Other roundtable discussions have been set up with specific stakeholder groups including service providers and non-profit agencies, youth, and businesses.
In addition to meetings with local residents and stakeholders, every resident will receive a Citizen Survey in the mail over the next two weeks. The survey can also be completed on-line at www.northhuron.ca. Residents are encouraged to complete and return the survey by Friday October 21st.
“We want to make sure that every North Huron resident has an opportunity to take part in this process, whether it’s completing a survey or attending a public meeting in their community,” said CAO/Clerk Gary Long. “It’s important that our strategic plan reflect the values, goals, and priorities of our residents and we look forward to their participation and input.
