Instructor Lifeguards (2) (Weekday/Daytime Shifts) Part-Time Perm.
The Township of North Huron Recreation Department is seeking up to two (2) Part-Time Lifeguard’s to support aquatics programming at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex Pool.
Duties include: Planning, implementing, and delivering swimming lessons, providing safe and enjoyable drop-in aquatic programs, and maintaining proper pool records in accordance with Ontario Health Regulations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Current National Lifeguard, LSS Swim Instructors, and Standard First Aid with CPR C & AED
- Experience planning and conducting LSS Swim Program, guarding busy recreational swims, and working with adults, children and youth of various ages and abilities
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Screening as a condition of employment
- One (1) years' experience as an Assistant Instructor Lifeguard
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent physical condition.
Rate of Pay: Band 2 ($18.28 -$23.22 per hour).
Hours of Work: Up to 30 hours per week (availability to work weekday/daytime hours)

Recreation Facility Operator Part-Time
The Township of North Huron is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Facility Operator to assist with the operations of the Recreation Department.
The Recreation Facility Operator provides general maintenance and custodial maintenance services for indoor and outdoor recreational facilities including, but not limited to: setup/ takedown of tables, chairs and equipment; cleaning and disinfection of washrooms, dressing rooms, change rooms; clearing snow from entrances, etc. This position may also perform ice maintenance and pool maintenance tasks.
The ideal candidate will have:
Grade 12 or equivalent;
Basic Refrigeration Certification;
Certified Ice Technician and/ or Pool Operator designation is an asset;
One year experience in recreation, parks & facilities is an asset;
Certification or willingness to become certified for Working at Heights, First Aid and CPR with
AED, and Smart Serve.
Good interpersonal skills;
Able to work alone or with minimal supervision;
Working knowledge of refrigeration, mechanical and electrical equipment;
General knowledge of parks & facilities maintenance standards;
Valid driver’ s license;
Rate of Pay: Band 4 $20.17 – 27.23
Hours of Work: Part-time, 25 hours per week. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and
statutory holidays, as required.
