Parking tickets
Fees can be paid by mail or in person. If paying by mail please send your ticket, along with payment by cheque, payable to the Township of North Huron. Our mailing address is: PO Box 90, 274 Josephine Street, Wingham, Ontario, N0G 2W0. In person payment methods are cash, debit or cheque.
Individuals have ten (10) days to pay the original fine outlined on the ticket. If payment is not made within ten (10) days of the infraction date, or a request for trial has not been made, the owner of the vehicle plate will receive a Notice of Impending Conviction (NIC) letter in the mail. An additional eleven (11) Canadian dollars will be charged to the ticket. If payment is not received by the due date indicated on the NIC letter, the ticket will be sent to the Provincial Offences Court.
If you intend to plead not guilty and request a trial, you may choose option two (2) on the back of your ticket and return it to the North Huron Municipal Office within ten (10) days of the infraction date.
Failure to pay the fine imposed upon conviction will result in an order that your Ontario Vehicle Permit not be renewed and that no new permit be issued to the plate owner until the fine is paid and all court costs and fees have been paid.
