The Wingham and Area Health Professionals Recruitment Committee is comprised of municipal, hospital and community representatives whose goal it is to ensure residents have access to quality health care professionals, specifically physicians. Physicians provide much needed services to the Wingham and District Hospital and the North Huron Family Health Team and both are vital institutions that provide essential services to the community, its members and the economy. Sustaining long-term quality healthcare professionals is integral to our community and the surrounding area. Physician Recruitment is fundamental to the viability of healthcare services.

The Wingham and Area Health Professionals Recruitment Committee (Committee) is looking for Family Physicians to join the medical staff at the North Huron Family Heath Team and Wingham & District Hospital. The Committee is seeking family physicians who are committed to primary care in our community. In addition to a comprehensive practice, the Committee can contribute additional services such as emergency medicine, long-term care, surgical assist, oncology as well as teaching. The Wingham and District Hospital is a learning site for Western's Schulich's School of Medicine, as well as McMaster's Michael G. Degroote's School of Medicine. The nine physicians who belong to the North Huron Family Health Team currently provide medical care for approximately 12,500 patients in our communities. Patients who do not have a family physician are encouraged to register with Health Care Connect for future openings. |
