The Township of North Huron hosted a Job Fair for the regional employers and job seekers on September 18th, 2024, 3:00 to 7:00 PM, at Wingham Columbus Centre. Sponsored By: Huron County Economic Development and Four County Labour Market Planning Board. Partnered by: Huron Chambers of Commerce, Municipality of South Bruce, Huron Manufacturing Association, Employment Services, The Centre of Employment and Learning, Employment Services, VPI Employment Services. Exhibitors: Sun Life, Gay Lea, TG Minto, College Boreal, Fritz-Alder Precast, Huronia Welding and Industrial Supplies, Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance, M&N Final Touch Cleaning, Huron Tractor, Listowel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, LiUNA Local 1059, Braemar Retirement Centre, CarePartners, Community Living Wingham and District, New Life Mills, Robert's Farm Equipment Sales Inc., Howick Mutual Insurance Company, and Fanshawe College. It was wonderful to see such a diverse group of job seekers of all ages connecting with local employers. The positive feedback we received highlights the event's success, and we're excited to hear that many employers found great candidates.

The Leland and Thora Vance Fund - Recreation StreamAbout the Fund The Leland and Thora Vance Fund - Recreation Grants is a grant making program to provide and maintain recreational facilities to enhance the quality of life for the general population of Wingham, now and into the future. Proposals are invited from organizations providing a public space for broad participation in community recreation activities including; sports, fitness, outdoor education, playgrounds, and trails. The Fund's total amount available is approximately $95,000. Funding must be used between November 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023 for expenses incurred over the same period.
