North Huron Welcomes Kelly Steiss as Director of Recreation & Children’s Services

NORTH HURON, ON (February 27, 2024) – The Township of North Huron is pleased to announce that Kelly Steiss will be joining the Senior Management Team as the new Director of Recreation & Children’s Services for the Township of North Huron.

 With a Bachelor of Arts in Social Development Studies and a Diploma in Social Work, Steiss brings with her twenty-one (21) years of experience working within the municipal sector. Her expertise and knowledge have supported the operation, administration, and delivery of recreation and children’s programming with the City of Kitchener.

 Prior to joining the Township of North Huron, Steiss has been responsible for the strategic leadership of multiple community centres working in collaboration with external community leaders and organizations to address community health and wellness needs.

 “We are excited to have Ms. Steiss join us as the Director of Recreation and Children’s Services” says Reeve Heffer. “We welcome Ms. Steiss’ leadership and look forward to the collaborative direction she will bring to the Township to continue to support the present and future success of our recreation and children’s services.”

 QUICK FACTS

Steiss will assume the position as Director on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Her initial focus will be identifying and aligning the goals of the Recreation & Children’s Services Department with the Township of North Huron’s Strategic Plan.
