Township of North Huron - Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan
April 14, 2021
Parks, recreation and culture facilities, programs, and services are vital to our high quality of life. To ensure that we are focused on the highest priorities, the Township of North Huron is seeking community input on local needs. We want to know how our residents use parks and facilities, as well as how we can improve public spaces and services for future generations. The Master Plan will guide decision-making over the next ten years and includes:
- Recreation and cultural facilities;
- Programs, activities, and events;
- Parks, open spaces and trails; and
- Service delivery policies and practices.
“The delivery of well-balanced parks and recreation services plays a key role in the health of our residents and overall well-being of our community. To help us achieve this goal, the Township is undertaking a Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan to ensure we can provide a high quality of life for years to come. We encourage all of our residents to get involved and provide input so that we have a strong and healthy community in the future.” Says Reeve Bailey
Input from residents and stakeholders will help shape the Master Plan. The Master Plan will impact all residents through the identification of park and facility improvements, introduction of new activities and amenities, consideration of service delivery approaches and more. It will assist the Township and its partners in making strategic investments to encourage a healthy and active community, strong economy, and sustainable environment.
Residents are invited to visit the Township’s website at https://www.northhuron.ca/en/recreation-parks-culture/parks-recreation-and-culture-master-plan.aspx to learn more about the Master Plan and how to get involved. Launch Event display boards present an overview of the project and an email address to provide written comments.
An On-Line Community Survey is also available online. Please visit the project website to participate at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PRCMPnorthhuron. Local organizations and user groups will also be contacted shortly to participate in a series of focus group sessions.
Additional consultation will occur in when the draft Master Plan is assembled to seek community feedback.
